Lotfi, Iran's living musical legend, is going to sing the mystical poetry of Mowlavi in London to commemorate The Year of Mowlavi.
The concert, which is organized by the Iran Heritage Foundation and the Nava Art Group, will be held in Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, on October 28.
Mohammad-Reza Lotfi, one of Iran's most well-known vocalists, will be accompanied by Tonbak (Persian goblet drum) and Daf (percussion instrument) played by Mohammad Qavihelm.
Qavihelm, the Iranian-French artist, has accompanied many of the grand maestros of classical and traditional Persian music. The two friends have worked together for over 20 years.
Musicians and artists of all genres have been inspired by mystic poems of Jalaleddin Mohammad Balkhi or Mowlavi (known as Rumi in the West). The poet transcends all cultural, religious and language barriers, unifying millions of people of all ages and nationalities.
